Below are some frequently asked questions to help you get around Sea-Port Technical Controls. FIRST TIME VISITORS

Why should I register at Sea-Port Technical Controls?

When you register with Sea-Port Technical Controls, you will have access to all functions which use your company’s account information and receive the following benefits:

  • View pricing for your account

  • Real time stock availability

  • Place orders

  • Track and expedite orders

  • View order history

  • Create favorites lists

How do I register?

To start the registration process, fill out the registration form found on the Register tab. Once you’ve submitted the information, we will create your online account within 24 hours. You will receive an email notification stating that you can now log in with your account number, user ID, and password.

What if I forgot my login information?

If you forget your Account Number or User ID, simply contact customer service at TCCustomerService@sptcontrols.com . To contact Portland customer service directly, call
1-800-562-3295 or for the Tempe customer service call 1-888-627-4755. We will be happy to look up that information for you.

If you have forgotten your Password, click the “Forgot Your Password?” link on the Log In page. Once you submit your account number and user ID, the password will automatically be emailed to you.

How do I use the Automatic Login option?

You can select the Automatic Login option while registering. This allows you to leave our website, close out of the browser, or shut down the computer, and you will automatically be logged in upon returning to our site. You will need to log back in only if you log out.

If you decide not to select the Automatic Login option, you will need to log in each time you close out of the browser, shut down the computer, or log out.

If you decide to change the status of your Automatic Login selection, you can do so by clicking the “Edit User Info” link on the My Account page. Press the Submit button once you have made your change.

Does Technical Controls use cookies on this website?

You have the option to use a “cookie” to store information for the purpose of an Automatic Login.

Which browsers are recommended to view this website?

To optimize your online experience, we recommend using Internet Explorer 5.5 and above, Netscape 6.1 and above, AOL 6.0 and above.

SEARCHING FOR PRODUCTS

How do I find an item if I do not know the part number?

The best way to find an item when you do not know any of the part number is to use the Product Specification Guide found on the left side of the homepage. Click on one of the product categories: Fittings, Valves, Quick Couplings, Partek® PFA Products, Regulators, or Pressure, Temperature and Flow. On the next page, please choose the appropriate subcategory. From there, the website will walk you through the process of picking product attributes. Once all of this information has been entered, click Search. The next page will show you a list of products that contain all the attributes you selected. From this page, you can view pricing, availability, product details as well as add items to your order form.

How do I find an item if I only know a portion of the part number?

If you know a portion of a part number, you can enter that information into the search box at the top left side of the page. Select the appropriate search category: TC P/N, Competitor P/N, Customer P/N, or Keyword. Please note that you must be logged into your account to search for a customer part number. Click GO, and the next page will show you a list of results that include the information you entered.

Where can I find technical product information?

After you have found the desired item, you can view product information by clicking on the part number. The next page will give you technical product information including extended descriptions, dimensional drawings, and specifications.

Will I need Adobe Acrobat to view the technical product information?

Adobe Acrobat is not required to view all technical product information. Some items, however, will have PDF files that can be downloaded for additional information. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can download the program to your computer for free by clicking on the Acrobat icon.

Where can I find pricing information?

After you have found the desired item, you can view your customer pricing by entering a quantity and clicking on the View Pricing and Availability link. Please note that you must be logged into your account to view this information.

How is the product availability calculated?

After you enter the desired quantity, our website will tell you whether or not the item is in stock. If the item is not in stock, the product availability will be calculated based on the item’s lead time and shipping time from the manufacturer. The availability does not account for the shipping time from sea-Port Technical Controls to your destination.

ORDERING INFORMATION

How do I place an order if I know the part number?

There are a few methods to place an order if you know the part number: Quick Order, Search, or Favorites.

You can place a Quick Order at the Quick Order or My Account tabs. Enter the part number and quantity, and then click Add to Quick Order. From this page you can view pricing and availability or add the item to your order.

You can place an order using the Search option at the top left side of the page. Select the appropriate search category: TC P/N, Competitor P/N, Customer P/N, or Keyword. Type in the part number and click GO. From this page you can view pricing and availability or add the item to your order.

You can place a Favorites order at the Favorites tab. Click on the Create a New Favorites List link to create and save a list of items you frequently order. From this page you can also view, edit, or delete the list as well as add the list to your order.

Can I order using my company’s part numbers?

Yes. Submit a list to customer service that matches your part numbers to ours. If necessary, we can help you do this. Once we have the list and upload the information, you will be able to look for items using your part numbers.

Can I find all items sold by Technical Controls?

The majority of our most frequently ordered items are available online. Some of the nonstandard and special order items we offer are not available online.

How will I know if my order was received?

Once you have completed the checkout process and submitted your order, you will receive an email confirmation that will contain the order details.

Can I change my shipping or billing address online?

You can change your shipping address online by logging in and visiting the My Account page. Click on the Editing Your Shipping Addresses link to make the necessary changes.

You cannot change your billing address online for security purposes. Please contact customer service at TCCustomerService@sptcontrols.com or call customer service to change your billing address. How can I view my Order Form?

You can look at the items you have added to your order at the Order Form tab. You can also make changes to your order on this page.

How can I make sure I am not taxed if my purchase is for resale?

If your purchase is for resale, you will need to complete a resale certificate and send it to customer service. Once this has been done, you can specify whether the items on your order are taxable or not during the checkout process.

Can I pick up an order I’ve placed online?

The Sea-Port Technical Controls will call counter is located in Portland, Oregon and Tempe, Arizona. Customers in these areas can pick up orders Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Please select the will call option under the delivery section at step 2 of the checkout process.

ORDER STATUS AND TRACKING

Can I make changes to my orders online?

You cannot make changes to an order online. It is difficult to make changes to an order before the parts ship because most orders ship upon receipt. If you would like to try to make changes to your order before it ships, contact customer service at TCCustomerService@sptcontrols.com . Can I view my order history?

You can view any order you have placed within the last six months from Sea-Port Technical Controls at the Order History tab. You can also view the order details and shipments on this page.

How can I expedite an order?

You can expedite orders at the Order History tab. Click on the Ship Info link next to the order you want to look at. This will bring up the Order Status Summary page. Next, click on the Track link for the specific line item. This will bring up the Order Status Detail page. Click on the Expedite link. Fill in the appropriate information and click Send Email.

How can I track an order?

You can track orders at the Order History tab. Click on the Ship Info link next to the order you want to look at. This will bring up the Order Status Summary page. Next, click on the Track link for the specific line item. This will bring up the Order Status Detail page. Click on the UPS tracking number, and this will bring you to the UPS online tracking system to give you the shipment status.

POLICIES

Cancellation Policy

Orders may be cancelled only upon approval by Sea-Port Technical Controls and cannot be cancelled online. A cancellation fee may apply. Return Policy

To request a return, please contact customer service at TCCustomerService@sptcontrols.com . To contact Portland customer service directly, call 1-800-562-3295 or for the Tempe customer service call 1-888-627-4755. Some items are not returnable such as nonstandard or special order items. A return processing fee may apply. For more information, please refer to the Technical Controls Terms and Conditions of Sale.

Security

We have taken every precaution to ensure that you have a safe experience with Sea-Port Technical Controls. We use secure server software called SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), the industry standard in internet security, to protect all sensitive information online. SSL encrypts all the information you supply before it is sent to us preventing the information from being read by a third party.

Your account number, user ID, and password also help protect your personal information. Your password to access our website should not be shared with anyone, and we recommend that you change it frequently.

Privacy Policy

Sea-Port Technical Controls is committed to protecting your privacy. You can be assured we will only use the personal information you provide us to support your customer relationship with Sea-Port Technical Controls. We will not sell, rent, or release your information to outside organizations. Credit card numbers are used only for processing payment and are not stored or used for other purposes.
